If you feel you have the right skills and experience and would like to work with Eutechnyx on the next generation of driving games, check our Vacancies section. But before you do that, read on, as you’ll discover more about how we recruit staff, what we’ll expect of you and what you can expect of us should you be called in for an interview.

If you apply for a position at Eutechnyx and make it to the interview stage, do some preparation before your appointment. It may sound obvious, but checking out who Eutechnyx are, what we’ve produced in the past and playing some of our games is a good way to start.
Secondly, remember that we’re a games developer. That means we like people who “know” games. We don’t expect all applicants to be hardcore gamers but generally, having some experience of gaming is a distinct advantage. Try to at least play some games before the interview and assess them critically. Look at what you like and what you dislike then come up with ideas to improve them. Anybody can simply dismiss a game for its weaknesses, the real talent lies in finding ways to improve a game and offer new ideas. That’s the kind of person we’re looking for.

The interview process at Eutechnyx is pretty informal. We’ll invite you in for a chat about your skills, your ambitions and why you want to work for Eutechnyx. We’ll also give you a tour of our studio and may introduce you to other members of staff. You could be working with up to 70 people on a project so it’s important you can gel with the team and communicate with people from different disciplines. It’s not uncommon for programmers to be interviewed by members of the Art, Production or Design teams, too.
Our goal during the interview is to get to know you as an individual. To see if you’re the kind of person who would fit in with the Eutechnyx team. Your Resume was the foot in the door, now it’s time to sell yourself.
During your interview, we may talk about gaming, your hobbies, your skills and the kind of person you are. Where you think your strengths lie, about past experiences you think are relevant and so on. So if, for example, you mention on your Resume that you’re hardworking be prepared to illustrate this. Tell us about a time when you had a deadline to meet or had responsibilities to fulfil. We don’t ask trick questions or try to catch you out. The goal is simply to find out more about you as a person.
In some cases you may be asked to take an Emotional Intelligence Test. This test is a simple series of tick box questions that’ll help us understand your personality and give further insight into your character and strengths. Don’t worry, it’s not as scary as it sounds. There are no right or wrong answers on an EI Test. It’s used purely to gauge the kind of personality you are. We never hire based solely on the outcome of an EI Test. Rather, it simply helps us place you within the team and ensure you’re given a chance to work to your strengths.
Depending upon the outcome of your interview and your EI Test, we may invite you back for a second interview. Don’t think you’ve failed the first interview or that we’re undecided over your potential employment. A second interview is often used to introduce you to other members of staff we feel should also meet you were but unable to at the time of your first interview. Or a position we previously didn’t consider you for may be available and we wish to see if you’re suited to that one. It’s not uncommon for people to apply for one position and then be employed in a different capacity following an interview. It’s about assessing a potential employee’s strengths and where they could fit into our organization. And if you are hired, you may well be given the opportunity to expand and advance through the company. Eutechnyx is a very dynamic company, with many opportunities for career development.
Finally, although the interviews are relaxed and informal, that doesn’t mean we don’t expect a degree of professionalism from the applicant. Punctuality and attendance are two things we rate very highly at Eutechnyx. In other words, show up for your interview on time and on the date you’ve been called in. And if you can’t make it, please let us know in advance so we can reschedule.
